At first glance, the sales forecast template looks very complicated. But once you get the hang of it, you’ll quickly realize just how relatively it is to actually manage. It only looks complicated because there are a lot of dates involved, but this is actually a must, because those dates pertain through the years that the template will cover. For example, you can start at January 2014 and then end on December 2016, where you’ll be able to track how your sales have evolved over time. The template covers three years at most. Now the first table of the template shows the actual sales in year 1, where you’ll track the performance of your products which will be inputted in the category area. You’ll be provided with each of the month in order to add in your data. The same goes for the next tabular form, which covers year 2 of your sales forecast.

The third table is a little different because before it goes into the year 3, it provides you with a table in which you’ll be able to see your sales growth by percentage per category. Then at the last column, you’ll be able to see the percentage of your annual growth. Then in the next table is the seasonal sales distribution, which talks about how well you’ve distributed over the past few months per year. Then it’s back to year 3 of your sales forecast, which still follows the same format of the past two years.

There are two spreadsheets for this sales forecast template. The first one has talked about the details and the table forms. Now for the second spreadsheet, you are given the graphical representation of the data you’ve inputted. This is a very helpful tip, especially when you truly want to see the performance of your sales and how much they’ve grown over the past three years. The timeline stretches into three years in the x-axis while in the y-axis, you’ll be able to see which category or product has gotten the most sales. There are three tables all in all. The first is for the sales forecast. The second is for the seasonal sales distribution and lastly, the third is for the sales growth by category. With this template, you’; have the opportunity to see how much you’ve grown and developed as a business person.
